Before delivery apps, fries came from a window. You knew the kiosk, you knew the sauce, and you knew the person leaning out of the hatch. FRY-DAY ‘96 starts from that memory and keeps it light. Everything is a little louder than it needs to be: the check on the awning, the “Dee approved” sticker, the house sauce that is just ketchup and mayo mixed half and half. The brand doesn’t ask people to remember the nineties. It gives them an excuse to enjoy them.

The identity pairs a thick, rounded display face with a plain sans for the menu, in red, cream, navy, and a small yellow accent. The logo combines the wordmark with Dee in a circle, and ‘96 sits in its own small stamp. Packaging carries the check: a paper cone in three sizes, a tray, a sauce cup, and a takeaway bag that reads “Take it home. Or don’t.”

The kiosk works as one piece of packaging. A striped awning, a hatch with the sign “Order here. Dee’s watching.”, a hand-painted-style price board (fries, five sauces, cheese fries, sausage in a bun, mini zapiekanka, drinks), and numbered order tokens that say “Your fries are almost ready. Stay close.” The sauces get their own names and lines, from “The classic.” to the half-and-half “96 house sauce”, so the menu reads like part of the brand rather than a list of prices.

FRY-DAY ‘96 was built with one belief: that a good fry kiosk is a small piece of shared memory.

FRY-DAY ‘96 was built with one belief: that a good fry kiosk is a small piece of shared memory. By trading filters for one mascot, one pattern, and a joke on the sign, FRY-DAY ‘96 turns a cone of fries into something people want to be photographed holding.
